During the 26 years of its existence, the Society has fundraised for and purchased a host of medical equipment and patient comfort items.

Story

The redevelopment of Taupo Hospital was included with Lakes District Health Board business case approved by the Minister of Health in 2008 at a cost of $12.9 million. There is a shortfall in funds of $1.3 million; the Society has accumulated funds over the last 20 years and is able to contribute $750,000 and is appealing a further $550,000 from the Taupo District business community and the public. The appeal fund will be used specifically for the refurbishment of the the In-Patient ward. The full redevelopment will provide the residents of the Taupo District with first class health facilities.

Went to see orthopaedic, she made me feel like I was wasting her time , bombarded with question why did they send me here, etc. was not happy.
Went in Friday night with sudden onset migraine and everyone from the receptionist the nurses doctor and mike doing covid info outside were absolutely amazing. Their care was impeccable....I left feeling very well cared for. In these tough times they were professional but also just humans looking after humans....thankyou very very much xx

Emergency department do not have any emergency plan. We are waiting from 9:00 pm to see the doctor. I don’t they have doctors or not in the emergency department. It is 10:45pm now. But they didn’t call us yet. Most worst emergency service we got from Taupo Hospital. If you planning to come here please think more than five times. If possible go somewhere else. It’s pathetic New Zealand are most peaceful country of the world but they don’t have proper medical for the people. Government should take care of the people who are got accidents. And wants emergency service on there emergency time. Most worst service in the world. May be some African countries people also get more faster emergency service in the emergency department of a hospital
I only wish I could give 0 stars. Partner and I have went to hospital a few times and there has only been one TRAINING nurse who was professional and actually helped. The rest spoke so loudly about other cases, dismissed me despite me overhearing that I had issues with an ekg only to have a seizure 2 hours after I left, very rude. Treating su!cidal patients rudely and falsified my most recent discharge. In process of reporting but not happy
I went with my uncle to the emergency department as he had pain after a surgery. Although I can understand they will treat patients in more serve condition but we waited form 9:30 in morning right until 4. This was about 7 hours. I was getting pretty cranky. That amount of wait is ridiculous.
Appalling, not taken seriously, rude doctor, felt like I was an inconvenience to them
Checked Radiology opening hours on Lakes district and was there at 8am only to be told it was open 8:30am you may like to correct the times on your website. We were directed by a staff member to go to Xray but when we returned Xray told us another story, The waiting time seemed excessive 2hrs but we were told there is just one Doctor on until lunchtime i requested pain relief and was not given any because the nurses were busy, while i appreciate this it was not comfortable waiting in the stuffy waiting room for hours. The waiting room was empty 90% of the time and this concerns me because 1 doctor in ED for Taupo and our experience says this hospital is understaffed.
Was a rather quick experience, sadly due to covid restrictions I couldn't enter the emergency room with my partner, Hospital staff were pleasant, free parking and accessable for everyone
Orthotics Clinic - The only service they provide is the fitment of arch support inner soles. They do not provide any other type. As I cannot wear arch support inner soles they told me they couldn't help. Cardiac Clinic - I was advised that there was rehabilitation and other services available from Pinacle Health. Pinacle Health provided me with absolutely no services or help at all.
