Would have to agree 100% with the comments below re the reception staff. I have never been treated so rudely. The nurse hadn't been much better and the doctor was very unsympathetic or helpful. At least the lovely people at the hospital have been trying to assist, even though they shouldn't have too.
I came to one appointment to support my partner who just experienced a traumatic life event and we saw a male doctor here after my partner saw many different ones, never the same one and it was unbelievable how he treated us. Looked at his watch after 13 minutes and kinda said time is up, time to leave, seemed very stressed and hectic and we just finished telling that my partner got dark thoughts because of this traumatic event and needs help. When I spoke up to the doctor and said that this is a human being here and it’s about the safety and well-being he said, that he is already running late but can give another appointment in 2 weeks. I said something against this again and then he had time in one week. We never saw him again, definetly will change the gp.
Had no issues so far. Staff have been friendly, they're very busy at times so cut them a bit of slack
The doctors and nurses are helpful but certain reception staff are very rude and condescending. Whether it’s on the phone or walking in the door they seem to look bothered by the fact you need to speak to them. I spoke to one receptionist before over the phone and she made it out like I wasn’t going to be able to see anyone so I said that it’s quite important and she waited for my reason so I spoke about it briefly and she then proceeds to give me unprofessional patronising feedback/ health advice rather than actually helping me find and appointment! So unprofessional. I’ve heard similar stories about them also.
You won't expect to receive a bad service from Medical center but Tasman Medical Center reception does provide the worst service. My wife had the bad experience as reception/admin won't listen what we are saying and I had the similar experience. Only reason we are enrolled as it's literally 100 meter from my home otherwise we always had better customer service experience with Stoke Medical Center when we were in Stoke. Please be human being and listen to human on the other end and respect what they are asking. Literally receptionist are telling us off and we felt like they are doing us big favor by taking to us. Really, Receptionist are there to help customers.
Have been trying to book an appointment for immigration medicals for almost 3 months and kept getting pushed to another date! Today I get a response saying they are busy looking after their own people patient's and cannot accommodate a immigration until next month. No disregard to the place bit the tone I was spoke to was rude! I have been working in the country for 10 years and have contributed immensely to the economy and community. I am equally important as your God damn patient's So show some respect! You don't have the manpower or decency to deal with enough patient's in this city.
Excellent, Efficient Medical Practise. It's Me that's a bother to them. Lol!! Sometimes I put them in a difficult position, when I'm late, & especially when it's the bill, did I say patient too. It is pleasant spacious area they have for the Practise, which is great for access for folk with disabilities too. Staff in general are helpful, though room may not allow, they could possibly have a third receptionist, which could take the pressure off. But then again that's the Medical Game, it's not really that predictable when patients are going to need the Doctors, & a rush happens. I don't have problems with most of the nurses, the ones that know me, go a hundred miles for me. And I want too sing praises for my own Doctor, I followed her via Tahuna from Nelson central. Unfortunately my Doctor landed a good one, lots of Medical diagnosis &I needs.
At all times I have felt listened to and the General Practitioners I have dealt with have been proactive and have followed through with contacting me back re results and recommendations. As a patient I have always felt valued and respected. I am appreciative of the quality of care I have always received.
The Doctors there are really good! Unfortunately I get a bit of judgement from a couple of nurses, but other than my personal experience, they are great! It has a really nice, spacious waiting area with a good little play area for the children. Would certainly recommend!
Very dissapointed, we have used Tasman Medical Centre for our staff medicals, injuries etc. for over a year and we called yesterday to inform them one of our staff was on the way suffering an allergic reaction to a bee sting was only a minor reaction at this stage and a precautionary measure as there was no history of reactions for this person we were told not to bother coming down as firstly they couldnt find us in their system and secondly no one was availabe to see our emplyee. The reaction worsend very quickly while they were on their way to purchase antihistamine tablets from a chemist & thankfully for us the staff at the Richmond Health Centre were less concerened about appointments and accounts and very much more so on the well being of a person, they called an ambulance for our employee who by this stage was vomiting and starting to pass out and administered antihistamine tablets. Thanks to the team at the Richmond Health Centre our employee recovered quickly and avoided a trip to hospital...... Tasman Medical Centre will never see us at their door again.
