Spent 1 night here in a private 2 double bed unit, cabin 5. The bed was comfy. The cabin came with a small table and chairs, mini-fridge, some plates, cups, etc. Not really spacious if you have 2 big suitcases that you want to lay out.nnI could park a small rental car right in front of the unit. The unit was perfectly located to the laundromat, ladies showers/restrooms, and kitchen. The split HVAC works very well for heat. Kept the cabin very warm.nnPrice to wash was standard. $4 to wash, $4 to dry.nnIf you arrive past reception hours, they will have an envelope with your room key and info for you outside of the office.nnThe streets on the compound are narrow especially if there are multiple campervans/RVs.nnCan't comment on the staff as I never got to meet the staff due to arriving late and departing super early.
We stayed at the holiday park initially for one night, then extending for another night. The holiday park was well maintained, facilities were plentiful and the staff very helpful. The park is ideally located for travelling north Milford Sound or south Doubtful Sound and the town of Te Anau has everything that you might need. Don't over think it, book it, this holiday park was great.
Pros: very walkable to town centre. Check-in process was easy. Staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Amenities were as expected and in mostly good condition.nnCons: the park itself is quite small and they pack in as many sites as possible in this space. Any campervan larger than the average minivan might have some trouble navigating and parking here both of our neighbors were in larger motorhomes. You are extremely close to your neighbors. If both your windows are open you can probably hear each other breathe. With that being said, we were here just one night and it was tolerable for what we needed. In all honesty though, I wouldn’t want to be here for any longer than that due to the lack of privacy.
I agree with other reviewers—this holiday park is quite small, and the internal roads are very narrow, which made parking our campervan a bit difficult. The spacing between sites is also tight, so it didn’t feel very comfortable. The facilities were adequate, though some areas weren’t immaculate. Since we only stayed one night, it was manageable. The location, however, is a big plus, as it’s very close to the town centre.
Great location close to town, with well maintained campsites, gardens and facilities. The sauna and hot tubs were magnificent for sore muscles after completing the Kepler track. A must stay.
