Friendly staff. Took a while to get seated even though not busy. Early evening so food came out fast which was nice. Got a variety of tapas and some cocktails. Seared tuna was our favourite - the citrusy salsa was the perfect accompaniment. Potato bombs were tasty and the flavours worked well together. The scallop dish wasn't great. The delicate scallops were completely overpowered by the strongly falvoured red pepper salsa and dried capers. The grilled prawns were OK but remember to load up on the goodies at the bottom of the serving dish, else it'll be bland. All in all it was a bit of hit and miss with the dishes but the main issue for us was the portion size and the cost of the drinks. $150 incl 1 round of drinks for the amount of food we got doesn't cut it. Can't fault anything else. Might be back.
Fantastic place for tapas and authentic spanish meals. Well worth visiting in orewa. Good wine list too. If coming with others share some tapas and enjoy a great experience!
Absolutely LOVE this place! Rhe calamari was sensational, the cauliflower was delicious and the chili prawns were out of this world. Came back here 4 times just for the chili prawns, they were just as delicious at 11am as they were for dinner.wish we could move the entire crew/restaurant to Melbourne… THE BEST
Great place for a reasonably priced breakfast. Food, coffee were very good, especially the mushrooms. Service was OK, value for money
We love coming to Tasca Orewa for breakfast and for dinner. The best mocha ever! We love the pancakes and the eggs benedict. For dinner we always order patatas bravas. The lamb shank is so good and the bombas. It feels like being on holiday when we eat here and the service is excellent.
