Man on the phone is very rude and sounds very moody and he hung up while I was still talking which represents the restaurant in a negative way. What a shame Taj Teach your staff about basic respect and communication skills!
A lovely place for a long lunch. Clean, bright and airy place with really friendly service. The food is freshly made, delicious and very reasonably priced. It's going to be one of our favourites. It would be nice to be able to get sparkling water and maybe non alcoholic beer. Also the music is a little loud.

Ordered a takeaway 3 times from taj now and it's such a shame,I lv keema curry and they do it well. Bug it's certainly not value for money, 9.00pound for a small carton which is always only half full,I gave the benefit of doubt,,but won't be going any more, Such a shame,,plz if your going to keep putting your prices up,,then give value for money,,complete rip off and no where near anough for the chapattis that come with it ,,or is that what you're customer, s are paying for ???
Excellent food and hearty portions. Nice and kind service. Mango lassi tasted amazing, naan was full of cheese and curries are super tasty. We will certainly come back again.
I have been coming to the take away for over 40yrs and have never had any issues whatsoever, it’s a family run business that make you feel as part of there family. We have been going to the restaurant and I can honestly say service is first class, they have really step up there game staff are very friendly and you are warmly greeted. Now for the food for me and my family and friends is first class more than happy to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat. Food is excellent first class my kids and my grandkids love coming to the restaurant as well as the take away, my kids and grandkids say we want good food that mean take me to Taj. This restaurant was a longtime over due and we are happy they made it happen. We give Taj Majestic Dining 5 stars
Been there on Sunday ordered starter which was clearly not fresh. Left over rice pieces on samosa. Taste was alright nothing special portion size is small. Prices are too high for no reason. Waiters and their service was good £2.00 for a can of drink which is literally 45p outside. won't recommend.
Ordered a Angus burger, bread and the meat both old and stale. Chips cheap quality re fried. Mrs ordered a curry that was ok, but salad and sauces stale. Salad and sauces clearly recycled from the last customers. After I paid I asked the manager you not going to ask me how my food was he just didn’t care and looked at me while he was scratching his lower mid section - disgusting. Can’t see a negative reviews all seem to be generic and positive which only suggests one thing - all reviews potentially fake.
Sadly going down the pan!!! Used the little takeaway until it closed, the reseteraunt opened up on Roundhay road and decided to give it a go. At first it was really nice although a bit drab as a resteraunt the food was pretty good although a bit pricey. Had a meal this week and unfortunately the quality is slipping and not up to what it used to be. Very very pricey and definitely not worth its cost as vastly overpriced. If I were to give an opinion on standard of food I’d again sadly say, not all that great .. get back to the quality it was and has from the little takeaway, drop your prices and hope you can repair what you’re clearly ruining
It’s great to finally find an excellent curry house that serves proper home cooked food . Cycled in for lunch yesterday with my wife. They were so hospitable and welcoming. The lamb Karahi with Garlic bread was fabulous. They also followed their spice rating . Medium was medium , perfectly spiced . Washed it down with Mango Lassi . Will definitely be back . Looking forward to trying their Biryani. Loved how clean and well maintained the place is . Prices were between than city centre . Will definitely be back. Thank uuuuu
