This cafe was a delightful find, as we only went here as we happened to notice it while walking down the main drag. Despite knowing there was a great option just around the corner we decided to give this place a go, and it turned out to be a dlgreat decision. The interior was nicely decorated, but not only that but it was a very kid friendly establishment as well. They have a little play area for younger kids, which is something I've not seen often in cafes in New Zealand, but a great addition. The only trouble with the play area was the toddlers were more interested in playing than eating. My wife and I both got the Rosti Bene and it was the perfect brunch. Well cooked and yummy. It was filling too, which was a good thing as the day as we ended up being busier than expected, so it was the only real meal we had until dinner that night. The staff were friendly, and able to negotiate around kids going to and from the play area with ease. It was relatively busy when we went in, so we were told our food from the kitchen was going to take longer than normal, but we were pleasantly surprised when it came out in a normal wait time. I think this place is well worth a visit if you're in the area, especially if you have young kids.
Tasty food, lovely staff and great service! Think this will be our new spot to come for breakfast with the group :
Absolutely love this cafe the food was delicious and the portions definitely matched the price aswell as delicious coffee. Unfortunately we don't live in the area and we won't be able to go more often.Food: 5/5
Highly recommend the Sutto Burger. Juicy flavourful and just the right amount of sauce. I also recommend the Banana Mixed Berry Smoothie with cream and a berry swirl for the drink. UPDATE: Today I ordered the Savoury Omellete, delicious.
We were looking for a good coffee shop on a Sunday morning and we saw this place was packed out! Great coffee and service!
Nice atmosphere great service but the smoothie i had wasn't good at all. Ordered a Mixed Berry. Smoothie lacked the berry flavour. Tasted a bit like a plain vanilla icecream smoothie. Not tasty at all.Food: 1/5
Just stopped in to try this place out, the closest to home. Coffee was burnt, both Eggs Benedict were tasty but fairly pricey for how big the portions were. Not very impressive.
Tasted good - the times we have been in with my family, the coffee has both come out late after the meal, once cold. Went in today and asked if I could swap out the english muffin for hash brown, with my eggs, I said I didn't mind paying more. The lady asked another, and she literally rolled her eyes so far back in her head right in front of me. If I wasn't starving I would of left as it was just so uncalled for and rude. I wasn't being pretentious, I was just asking a question and would of been happy to pay extra. Won't be going back again due to this. The young boy waiter was much friendlier.
You know that sinking feeling when you wake up feverishly hungry, decide to treat yourself to brunch out, and then the food arrives and you just think what the F is this? We both ordered the classic eggs bene, and my dreams of a good brunch were shattered by what arrived at the table. Served on a quality bakers English muffin which feels very lazy/cheap, we requested the bacon to be cooked on the crispy side and apparently the chef took this to mean cook it until it’s blackened and so hard it crumbles to bacon flavoured ash under my knife. If we hadn’t been quite so famished I’d have asked to send it back, or at the very least a steak knife to saw through the hardened strips of what used to be bacon. Also, caution to the hungry, portions were veeery stingy and more of a snack for those of us that like to eat. In fairness, the eggs were poached nicely and the Hollandaise was beautiful. Last thing before I forget this place exists, it’s generally not a good idea to allow other patrons to smoke cigarettes within a metre or two of people who are eating your food. Absolutely no one asked for a side of second hand smoke with their meal.
Great waitress at the counter...cheerful and helpful. Let my partner order what wasn't on the menu..thankyou for that.. We all enjoyed our meals. Food: 5/5
