Story

My passion for all things horsey started at a young age. When I was 5 years old I asked my parents for a pony, and at my next birthday was presented with the plastic toy version! They told me if I saved my money then one day I might be able to have a horse. Well, challenge accepted, from that day forward I saved all my Birthday, Christmas and pocket money until at age 11 I had enough money to buy my first pony, Nirvana.

My parents continued to support the passion of their horse crazy daughter, eventually moving from a suburban house to a lifestyle property complete with equestrian facilities. We progressed from hitching rides with friends, to our own float and eventually upgraded to a truck (built entirely by my father) which now travels anywhere between Auckland and Christchurch on a regular basis for competitions.

I’ve progressed a long way from the 5 year old girl with her plastic pony. I run a team of event horses with up to 7 horses in work at any one time. I have teamed up with a number of locally and nationally well regarded horses including Wishful Thinking and Devil’s Advocate (both produced to 2* level), Kaipara Dior (produced to Pre Novice as a 5yo before being sold) and Giselle II (produced from Training to Novice level in one season). Some of my best results include being named for the Young Rider Trans Tasman Squad in 2010, 5th place in the CIC2* at HOY in 2012, 1st place in the CNC1* at Puhinui Three Day Event in 2011 and winning the individual A1 title at NZPCA Eventing Champs in 2009. As well as Eventing I also compete at Level 4 dressage and 1.25m Show Jumping.
