Worth the stop for the fish burgers we got here! Would have loved for the raw fish to have been a bit more filling but it was all good. Servings was not over the top and the deep fried stuff didn't feel too oily. Keep it up team! Maybe a little bit more chips??
Had a fabulous meal of fish and chips. Served quickly. Crisp batter, yummy chips cooked nicely. Excellent Hoki fish and battered snags. Good service. Always head to Stumpy's in Whangarei when we want takeaways.Food: 5/5
Asked sisters who were arriving from Oz, what they wanted for dinner. 'Flounder'..so rang Stumpys at 6ish to see if they had some & thankfully it was a yes. Went in & chose 2 good sized, yellow bellied ones..they were fresh in that day. Cooked home made chips as well & sisters arrived bout 8 to it all cooked. Can't beat a pan fried fresh flounder if you're a fan of fish.
I am an American living in Boston, Massachusetts — a location famed for its fish-and-chips. Nevertheless, Stumpy’s offers the finest fish-and-chips I have ever had. Did my boat smell like Stumpy’s for at least forty-eight hours after consumption? Yes. Was it absolutely worth it? Also yes. Stump yourself as soon as possible.
Nice food, the sea dog should be in a hot dog bun though not a hamburger bun. But it still tasted good. Update the decor, the table covers look bad.Food: 4/5

Ok for a quick bite to eat. Menu is what you would generally expect to see at a takeaway place. Good kai & service every time we have been there. We normally ring our order in as they can get very busy. They also have a small range of fresh seafood. ie. kina in containers, fresh flounder, smoked fishFood: 3/5
English fish n chip's best place in whangarei. Definitely visit again . Crispy thin batter and crunch chips and well priced Parking: Outside the shop or down the side
