I have been using the library with my kids for the last 10 years and always pleased with all the services they provide. The staff are fantastic always looking to help and a lot of activities offered on school holidays , like tennis table, chess club reading club. Keep up the good work.
A place of such sheer beauty and tranquility, you would wish to come here again a and again and again. It is all free. The library features two floors. The interior is spacious and caters for people of all ages and backgrounds. The children’s library on the ground floor has an excellent selection of books, and study spaces. At the time of writing this review, the children’s section features a London transport theme with a very authentic replica of a London Underground Central Line train at the entrance to the children’s library. Parents and children can sit in the train cabin and read together. They have London bus bench inside. Upstairs they have study spaces, a reference library, and anyone wishing to use a computer can do so. The staff is helpful and friendly, but these days, self service terminals make it less necessary to deal with staff. It is a great place to visit, to read and to go with children. When this library first opened back in the early noughties, the concept of the library was changing. The local council seemed to want to attract younger people, and they had televisions playing in both floors, they invested a lot in DVDs and music CD’s, which were extremely popular at the time. While that sometimes created a very noisy atmosphere, these days everyone has mobile internet and entertainment on their phones/tablets, the place is much quieter, but there is still a great space for reading and studying. The recent refurbishment has also benefitted as they got rid of the massive counters they used to had for staff. I highly recommend visiting this library.
I think this library is really fun for children and they such a variety of books . The staff are always friendly and have a smile on their faces.
Available to everyone, haven't had a bad experience, not the biggest library but its not too packed in the evening hence why I really enjoyed it.
It is a good public place to use but can be quite noisy as people probably do not understand the true meaning of being in the library. You have to request for toilets to be unlocked.
I enjoying using my laptop and Internet to applying, application form by online, general update and news, and etc......
I am part of an organisation with different branches around London. We were planning to do an event for the 1st of June in Newham as we have lots of member here. We decided to contact the library instead of other private services as my organisation is based in the community. We pre-booked a room with them and write several emails to make sure the room was available. And if fact it was but ... Some of the manager looks like did not do their work and did not send us a form to fill up with the payment requeriments - we were not aware of the document as nobody said a word about it. The day arrived and we rang to confirm a few things. Surprisingly they told us we can not use the room because we did not fill up the document? What document? We did not know anything about it? Can we fill it up now and pay and use the room? No! The library states. We argued we were happy to pay and do everythibg necessary as we have an international speaker and the event has been announced. No, you can not use it. We insist, that it does not make sense as the room is available!!
One of the worst UKVCAS service centre. Not maintaining appointments schedule. Had to wait long time. Even though I have uploaded all my documents before my appointment. And it was my wife appointment she is pregnant and just 2 weeks to go her due date. Still they kept her waiting for around 1 nd half hours and they didn’t bother it. They are not strict with their policy. Rabbis service at all.
I went to a visa appointment on 10th December at 10:00am. I wish I could know her name. The lady was really helpful. She took my application seriously and tried her best to make sure my application was cleared and detailed. Thanks for your notes and dedication, I received my result!!
Yeah it's a half decent library but what i didn't like is when i went to use the toilet in there after like 2 minutes the library worker was pounding the toilet door down like the place was on fire. Overly rude.
