Our programs consist of personalized surf instruction on the beach and in the water. The focus of our sessions is on water safety and surfing instruction while having fun…
The CHCH School of surf is all inclusive (surfing equipment) so all you need to worry about is getting to the beach!
BEGINNER SURF PROGRAM
Session Components
• Talk on dangers and risk management for the session.
• Ocean awareness and water safety instruction on the beach
• Stretching and warm up
• The basics of surfing on the beach
• Identifying the shore break
• Paddling and sitting your board
• Wave selection
• Paddling for a wave
• Popping to your feet
• Surf etiquette
Basic beach rescue including:
• Dangers that can occur when performing a rescue.
• How to help someone in trouble.
• Practical session where in partners students perform a rescue.
All activities will be conducted on a 1 leader / surf instructor to max 8 participant's ratio and all participants must wear the branded rash vest that is provided for them for identification purposes.
Session Goals
• Give students an overview on ocean water safety
• Basic rescue technique
• Surf skills like paddling, catching a wave, standing up, riding a wave to the beach
• Having fun and building confidence
Session cost
• $35 per person for school groups (inclusive of all gear 2-3 hour session)
• $70 per person for group surf lesson (inclusive gear 2 hours)
• $100 private instruction (inclusive of gear 2 hours)
