Stayed here as part of a school camp, and my first backpackers experience. Lovely rooms that are clean, warm, and the beds are comfy. Kitchen and lounge well equipped. The shower/bathroom block needs updated soon though. I agree about the loud decking that resonates but overall a great stay. 5/5 :
It's a very long time since I stayed in a Backpackers so I was a little bit unsure about our booking. However despite being the oldest people by a county mile, we loved our 3 night stay here. We had a lovely double bedroom that was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Thanks.
Good place to stay on Stewart Island if you can get a shared room w female only.nnRustic conditions. Bed comfortable. Kiwis nearby if you get lucky you can see one. Go out solo in the dark. Especially if you can’t sleep. Some visitors were loud the night I was there but lucky me they were not near my room.
Perfect hostel to base oneself before/after a hike on Rakiura! It was great to have somewhere in town where we could pitch our tent and take advantage of kitchen and shower facilities.
Great hostel with lovely vibe - the bathrooms need to be updated due to smell and age, but otherwise a good spot to stay. Kitchen well-equipped, beds comfy, WiFi good, perfect location.
