We choose Oamaru as a transit point to Te Anau and weren't sure if it will be a day of nothing and boy were we wrong. What a beautiful city with so much life brimming - Steampunk hq was the main highlight for us. So many cool exhibits and interactions. My kid had recently studied simple machines in school and he had a blast looking for and operating them.nAnd if you are here, please do wall around the Victorian precinct - easy to get lost among the quirky shops the secondhand bookstore was a pleasant surprise! Highly recommend!
Fun experience, quirky, interesting hands-on experience. Good for families. Takes around 45 minutes to an hour to experience everything. Beautiful sculptures. Great start to this lovely city of Oamaru. There is an outdoor space so please ensure you go when it is not raining.nnAlongside this place is a Victorian setting shophouse.
Came on new years day and was very happy it was still open.nIt is only $15 entry for adults and it is quite a good, fun way to spend an hour or 2.nLots of different exhibitions and some you can interact with.nWorth a visit if you are looking for something to do.
I was actually surprised that I really enjoyed this activity. Was a lot to see and do here. The kids loved it and so many things to touch and experience. Is an outside area so we did that first with the weather about to turn! Really cool. Would recommend to anyone in the area to go and check out it. You will be surprised!!!
