About
56 Eden Street was the childhood home of Janet Frame. The property is available to the public to visit, and is part of the Frame experience and history.
Delightful grounds and a lovely place with much ambience. The curator was very helpful and knowledgeable as well. Well worth a visit.
I enjoyed walking around looking at photos and mementos that brought brought back my own childhood memories. I also read the book in high school. We lived in a house very similar.
Worth a visit in historic Oamaru.
We went to the readers and writers picnic. A lovely cup of tea and a scone on the lawn while listening to Shanye Carter and others talk about their books. A great day!
A beautifully cared for piece of New Zealand literary history.
Great stay, very interesting place, lots to take in and admire. Brilliant work
Well worth a visit. Janet wrote extensively about this place and to see it adds another dimension
