Springfield Golf Club

Great course. A fee challenging holes with back to back par 5s. A bit confusing for the gps with the midpoint being between the 10th and 11th but worked it out. The greens here were immaculate, and the greens staff must be commended. Well done!!

Attended this facility today. We had booked 2+ weeks in advance and paid more than $300 for our group of 6 which were traveling from Hamilton & Turangi. On arrival our friends from Turangi were met with immediate hostility from the office lady at the front, rudely saying no you can't play leave its a club day. I was the one who organized this and arrived a little after them, once they advised me I went into the office to see what was happening and she then said to my friends I already told you, you can't play its a club day and now your bringing you friends in? You need to leave. I explained that we had booked in advanced and paid, as well as traveled great distance. You then said fine you can play but you better play and walk fast otherwise we are kicking you off the course. As we were playing we ended up ahead of another couple, in the carpark they told us it was their first time playing, they weren't members of the club and they had no issues with playing. We couldn't understand how we were subject to such rude behavior, if it was club day, my phone number was on the booking and we could of been made aware we were unable to play however the booking was accepted. We were quite clearly racially profiled and once we realized this spoke to others in the golf community who let us know Springfield Golf Club is known for this. its absolutely unacceptable and apauling this type of behavior is still happening in 2024. This completely ruined a much anticipated day with friends. Very disappointed.

Beautiful golf course in great condition. Spectacular vistas, old growth trees and well manicured greens. Staff were welcoming and accommodating of tourists, providing rental clubs, carts and golf supplies at reasonable prices. Local players were friendly and happy to share their gem with out-of-towners. We are glad we found this course and wish we had more time to play again.

Fairway grass a little long for a great game. Greens was slow also. Being out of towners could been due to weather conditions of previous days.

1st round played there. Part of thd Crazy Horse group. Wd had ab awesome time snx the course and staff were amazing. Thsnk you for welcoming us.
