Good size store and not too cramped like some other spotlights I've been to. Was surprised that the christmas fat flats were $2 when in hastings three days ago they were $1 in the same sale. Had some good specials on fabric. Their clearance fabric was in one area or so I thought before finding various collections of clearance fabric around the store so keep this in mind if after a bargain. The lady at the cutting counter was helpful and friendly. One area of learning for staff though is that fabric should be cut all the way through not cut then ripped the rest of the way as this can impact the weave of the fibres.
Well stocked, xlnt specials. My favourite go to, for canvases and paint supplies. Some pretty cool xmas decorations in stock too.
I'm not stoked that this big chain franchise overtook all the small family run haberdasheries then bumped the prices up. The quality is not great, you'd think buying scissors from a sewing and craft store that the scissors would be suitable for the job; not so, they were flimsy and expensive and just disappointing. However, now that Spotlight is basically the only shop around where I live to buy crafting supplies, and I am a very crafty person, I end up there sometimes and am able to find what I need and the specials, particularly on bedding and towels can be really good if you hunt about. The staff are friendly mostly. Meh, its OK, and it's all we've got really. I just hate that chain stores have wiped out the individual local businesses, wiped out any competition then put prices up on worse quality items.
Fantastic service, the sales person knew exactly where the product was that I needed and I was paid up and out within a few minutes.
It's a great place - but the young lass in the curtain dept needs to make sure ALL the components of twin tracks are there. Would have saved me a second trip of an hour to go back and get what was not included.
