Splash Happy

WOW! Hazel was incredible today. My son 6 years, non swimmer really dug his heels in at having to go swimming without his mum or dad in with him. It felt like a huge achievement just to get him to the pool and then into his togs and then onto the poolside. I thought there's no way he'll get in, he was really dug-in and resistant. I thought he might get in in a week or two. But low and behold Hazel just chipped away and warmed him up and within 15min he was in the water with a massive smile and huge sense of achievement. I'm still in shock at Hazel's mastery. At the end he said "I can't wait for next Saturday... I just want to skip school and come all the time"

No issues with the swimming lessons and the teaching. Though recently my child had Chicken pox. I notified Splash happy via email, of my sons condition at my earliest opportunity. I said he would not be able to swim at his next lesson in 5 days time and if we could have another lesson at a future date following the illness. First I was told that lessons could not be “rescheduled ” following a missed lesson. I emailed pointing to the email sent prior to his lesson notifying of my sons condition. I was then informed that an alternative lesson could not be provided for “normal childhood illnesses.” I can understand “colds & flu” being normal but would not categorise Chicken Pox in this category. what defines “normal illnesses” I suppose is debatable. Overall I felt Hazel was being unfair and unreasonable. I had a similar abrupt response to a previous reschedule request last year during our religious festival. I feel the school could provide better flexibility around classes, especially in extenuating circumstances. I don’t regularly request a lesson to be rescheduled, and unimpressed with the poor customer experience. Would not recommend Splash Happy based on this experience.

Really like this swim school. We’ve tried some lessons at a private gym before moving to this school and our son’s swimming has progressed really well in the seven months we’ve gone to lessons here. Pool facilities at Clifton High are pretty grotty, but the young teachers two in the pool per swim group of around 5/6 children are very good and very encouraging.

We really like Splash Happy. We used to do lessons at the Council Pools but the progress was very slow. We changed to Splash Happy and they have come on leaps and bounds.

One star because I can’t give zero. What an awful bad tempered outfit, give them a wide berth!
