Mano - Fair Trade imports products from TRAMA Textiles, a women weaving project in Guatemala.
Welcome to Mano – Fair Trade,
While travelling through Guatemala in 2014 and spending some time volunteering and polishing my Spanish in the mountain city Quetztaltenango, I also came across the project TRAMA Textiles.
TRAMA is a project set up by women in 1988 after most of them lost their husband, brothers, fathers and sons in the civil war. They needed to earn money to provide for themselves and their families and this is how the association was formed. TRAMA Textiles is 100% worker- owned women’s weaving cooperative and provides work for over 400 women across five regions in Guatemala’s Western highlands. Women get paid up front and in full for their work and they are guaranteed a fair wage for what they produce.
I developed a great passion for Guatemala and the people who live there and I am excited to finally introduce Mano – Fair Trade to you. With buying from Mano – Fair Trade you will support a great cause which will give these women a chance of a better life.
The products you see in the album 'Products by TRAMA' on my page are for sale. To purchase the product comment on the photo of the product. I will mark sold items as SOLD. If you missed out on a product, but feel like you can’t live without it, get in touch and I see if I can get it in with my next order. Keep in mind the products from TRAMA Textiles are all 100% handmade and unique. Therefore replicas might differ slightly from the photo.
In case you are a retailer and interested in stocking TRAMA Textiles products please PM me for wholesale prices and minimum quantities. If you have product ideas let me know and I will see if TRAMA can create it for you.
Please check out my T’s and C’s for details about delivery and postage.
TRAMA Textiles was the inspiration to set up Mano – Fair Trade and in the future I hope to extend my product range with other Fair Trade handcrafts from all over the world.
Who else is excited?
Hasta luego
Simone
