Spice Traders Devonport

It was absolutely delicious. And we came in relatively late after we got off the ferry from Waiheke. It was still very busy so naturally you think the food etc will take a while. No. Not at all. Very generous size too.

Not really tasty but the service is good.

There seems to be a vast improvement since the new owners have taken over. We only visited twice before and didn't return. I tried again on Sunday. I can't speak for the curries. I had a chicken tikka salad and it was really good value. Lots of chicken and the salad was fresh and full of flavour. I will return to try out the curries. The only downside was that the naan was dry but a small problem. Service was really good. Very friendly and helpful.

Excellent food and excellent service. I have dined her a number of times now since the new owners have taken over and I am very impressed. The food is what brings us back as well as the prefect professional smiling services. No other Indian restaurant on the shore comes even closer.

Absolutely delicious authentic indian food, fresh high quality ingredients, not pumped up by cream and sugar. Being an indian myself, the food exceeded my expectations. It reminded me of my mum’s cooking. The service was very friendly. Keep up the great work team. Definitely coming back again!!

Pleasant red old brick on view walls. The service was excellent the main dish plates were actually hot fantastic not often that happens in Auckland. The currys were delicious both spicy and served temperature hot. The nan breads were cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend and will return. Well done Spice Trade and in particular to Harry on duty manager

Looking for somewhere to eat in Devonport and glad I chose here! Service was great - friendly and helpful. I had naan and a vegetable curry and really enjoyed it. Views of the water. Nice cosy ambience. Reasonably priced.

We ordered twice from here and every time the delivery late by 1 hour from estimated time. They deliver wrong order both time. Second time we order raita and they charge $4.00 and deliver like 3 teaspoons of it. Ridiculous manager over there and so arrogant. She doesn’t know how to talk to customers. Never going to order again.

Lovely service, kind cashier made nice conversation as I ordered my takeaway. Butter chicken was great but Biryani was excellent! Would visit again.

Tried Spice Traders for the first time in January this year and had a great meal. My mother turned 94 last week and I promised her a real Indian Banquet ..and she asked if I would go once again to Devonport Spice Traders as she loved the January meal...she knows her Indian food...has traveled there and stayed with Indian friends in their home. Had a word with Front of House "Ash" who suggested we order a selection of takeaways we wanted to eat at home with something special for each of us ..My mother went for the Goan Fish Curry she said superb my wife for the Lamb Rogan Josh she refused to share it with the rest of us!! ..I went for the chicken Kadhai so good I traded only a wee piece for our fourth member's delightful Butter chicken. This would be the first time in my life eating Indian food that my own meal was so good that I did not really want to "swap" a bit of mine for some of the others food. Really special night ..eaten Indian in lots of places in Auckland ..will not bother to eat anywhere else from now on but from Ash and his team. DICK CUTHBERT Herne Bay
