The garlic bread is absolute yum. Available as half a loaf, or whole loaf. I ordered a whole loafHUGE !. The beef burger is shit/crap. My companion had the seafood chowder2 mussellsstill in the shells, 2 shrimps, and some fish. It is delicious apparently. Even though the burger is crap, there is other items on the menu to try next time. I visited on Kings Birthday, so was charged a public holiday surcharge of 10%$6. I think this is wrong. The owner can afford to absorb the cost of paying staff time and a half, and still make profit. The Ale.House is 2 storey. So, catering for large groups is no problem. Plenty of room.
I've dined here many times with friends and family. The food is above average, but it hasn't been particularly surprising or impressive. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out medium-well or more. However, the service and atmosphere are excellent.

So good we went back the next day. Service is superb. Pulled pork burger excellent. Beers great. Only con was trying to pay our bill on Sunday... waited ages for an available person as not enough staff on in the mid afternoon. Very much recommended, especially the $25 Sunday special of burger & beer! Great value.
We had the shared meat plater. It was good but later thought that the chorizo sausages were a little over cooked. Otherwise good selections and portions, all well presented. Had us by the fireplace which was perfect. Service was friendly, we were well looked after during and after each serving. Thank you for a pleasant evening.
