YUM. My husband and I came to speights tonight for our child free night and what a treat. We had one of the meat share platters and some breads. Absolutely delicious! The ribs and the sauce on the ribs is so good. Will be coming back, maybe with the kids next time
What a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in the door the decor is a refreshing twist on the industrial surrounds of the town. We were greeted by incredible staff and special mention the lovely Julie who was extremely attentive. She even put the Melbourne cup on for us which was a lovely gesture. Table service in a pub was above and beyond and the food blew away our expectations. My partner ate a chicken parcel and I had Chinese pork both were 5 star and we heard it was the first day of their new menu so I can only imaging the food will keep getting better. Keep doing what you doing.
Ordered takeaway while in Timaru for work. I asked if the apple crumble could come with the ice cream separate and was told it comes in a cup for take out. But when I got back to my motel, I saw that it had been put straight on top would not have ordered if they said that. Thought it might still taste okay, but it was bland and tasteless. No idea why the apple was red or where the crumble was! The fries were blah, the burger bun was burnt and the chicken was dry. According to the menu, there should have been cheese and smoked aioli in the burger, but all I could see and taste was a tangy sauce on the coleslaw. Very friendly service, but horrible food. Won’t ever go back.
Food is fantastic has try the pork ribs and chicken such great flavours and seasonings. The salt was alittle too much so next time I will ask for none . My family and I enjoyed the service and the hum of talking .
I've dined here many times with friends and family. The food is above average, but it hasn't been particularly surprising or impressive. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out medium-well or more. However, the service and atmosphere are excellent.
