A Small Horse is defined as a Horse or Pony that measures 48" in height or less when measured at the wither at six years of actual age regardless of breed
Objectives of SHBANZ (Small Horse Breeders Association of New Zealand Inc.)
i. To promote the identity, popularity and perpetuation of Small Horses;
ii. To own, operate and maintain a register of Small Horses;
iii. To promote, co-ordinate, aid, educate and/or encourage the breeding, promoting, exhibiting, use, purpose and care of Small Horses;
iv. To devise and adopt Small Horse show rules, regulations and standards;
v. To engage in any manner of business to raise money for the purposes above recited;
vi. To engage in any and all form of business transactions or enterprises a natural person might do, except as limited by law;
vii. To receive donations, bequests and devices of property both real and personal;
viii. To own, hold, purchase, sell, exchange and deal in, and otherwise dispose of, all kinds of real and personal property;
ix. To borrow money up-on such terms and conditions as the Executive shall from time to time arrange and to grant mortgages, charges and encumbrances on any property of SHBANZ in order to secure any loan made to SHBANZ;
x. To develop and promote good fellowship among other people and associations with similar objectives;
xi. To do any and all things necessary or appropriate to accomplish objects and purposes as stated herein.
Small Horses - five divisions based on height for age at the wither at six years of actual age
D32 - 32 inches and under
D36 - Over 32 inches but 36 inches or under
D40 - Over 36 inches but 40 inches or under
D44 - Over 40 inches but 44 inches or under
D48 - Over 44 inches but 48 inches or under
