Silver Fern Gallery is situated in Church Lane, Queenstown, New Zealand
Silver Fern Gallery was established in 1993 by the current owners, Avril Dolman and Graeme Bates. Originally called The Emporium, and then 38 Buckingham Street, the business became an Arrowtown icon.
The 38 Buckingham Street name reflected our Arrowtown address and our wagon wheel logo was derived form the premises’ original use as a coach builder’s workshop.
The business ceased trading at Arrowtown in May 2008 when the leased premises were redeveloped.
After 15 years in Arrowtown, Avril and Graeme decided the redeveloped premises would no longer serve their purposes and opted for change of scenery and relocated their business to Church Lane in Queenstown.
Church Lane is a precinct of galleries, small retail, bars and restaurants, and boutique accommodation. It has a casual, walk around feel that suits the business mix of the area.
We became Silver Fern Gallery following our move to Queenstown. The new name reflecting our evolution to a Tourist Retail store specialising in New Zealand made and themed art and craft items.
