The place where persimmons are picked is very big and comfortable. farmers are very friendly. The persimmons are very big, sweet with good price . And weekend they have persimmon ice cream.happy journey.
The persimmon the owner gave to me in order to spare the change destroy my whole day he picked it among those piles of good persimmons for sale for a long time, obviously he done it on purpose, and later on there is a worm come out from this terrible persimmon when I arrived home. I will never ever come back until the garden changed the owner. And the price is much higher than the supermarket in my point of view, It is NOT worth 45mins traveling. Please think twice before you come to this garden.
Very good place, a lot of persimmons pick freely, super sweet
Amazing place. Go get as much winter swee nice persimmon as you can. Then have a chat with the owners while enjoying the view. Finally go to the beaches nearby to relax and go for a walk. Enjoy!
The cupboards say you could return the bad fruits to owner, BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU COULD PICK THE GOOD ONES FROM WHICHEVER YOU GOT, AND RETURN THE REST, for example, returning a bag. We knew that and we enjoyed a lovely time there, bought all persimmons we picked. The owner was nice and had a good sense of humour, it took a while before you got his points.
The boss is very friendly and cute. The persimmon is natural and no pesticide, He advises us not to pick the persimmon and throw it on the ground.
This is the best place to experience picking your own persimmon. Ross and his family is very friendly and genious. He always make us feel welcome and warmed. This year is a super busy year for them because the persimmon was run out just at beginning of May so understand why lots of people couldn't get perfect persimmon. Last year we also came here on late June but the garden was still full of fruits and still had lots of choice. Not every customer respect the rule by doing sth like chasing his animal in the farm or throw fruit on the ground... so understand sometime he also need to set a rule and manage his farm strictly. Anw, I think Ross's family is managing the farm very well and we always enjoy coming to his garden <3
it is very expensive $5 per kilo even end of the season. better buy pak'n save is much cheaper than that. don't wast your time, petrol and labor cost.
10th of May 2019 The signs clearly state if you don’t like them persimmons please return them to the shop. We picked a bag of fruits to buy and a bag with defects to return to the shop. The owner confronted us saying this is a non-chemical orchard and defects can be expected. He then went through the bag and demanded we buy fruits with what he called slight defects. We refused and he became exceedingly aggressive and demanded that we read the sign carefully again which we did and explained we would not buy fruits we don’t like. My eight years old daughter was in tears after this experience and told me she thought the owner was going to hit me! The experience provided by the owner was unforgettably outrageous.
One friend told me to double check if they open during Anzac weekend. So I rang the number shows on google map and thought this might be easier to do. But I was wrong. I dunno who picked the phone I assume it’s the owner but the guy was quite MAD at me, and kept asking me why I called him and why I didn’t look at the website. I explained that I didn’t know there is a website. He still kept asking me why I called him, everything is on the website, he was so confused. I am confused as well so that’s why I made the phone call. I said sorry I didn’t know there’s a website but he was still asking me the same questions. I was quite wanting to go this weekend, but I don’t think I would just based on this terrible phone call :/
