Story

We are the SHINE ON KAITAIA Crew. Born out of He Whanau Marama Trust - a Trust that has been involved in many events over the past year. We are a group made up of parents, musos, tutors, students - all Volunteers, young and not young :-) either born, raised, living or have lived in and who LOVE KAITAIA :-D

We have organised many Events over the years and want to improve the delivery of these Events FOR YOU and for our future - our Kids! We've decided to put all our Events under this one kaupapa, while still being able to collaborate or co-design events with other trusts and organisations.

OUR MISSION is to build a solid foundation of positivity in Kaitaia to generate a source of LIGHT and increasing POSITIVE ACTIVITY to everyone who wants to receive it. Our mode for achieving this is by hosting community events, showcasing arts, dance, fashion, movies, concerts, neighbourhood tournaments, performing arts and encouraging social innovative kaupapa...and to SHINE this Light outwards...to reach ALL our Far North towns, communities and families.

We firmly believe that EVERY CHILD IS BORN WITH A TALENT and is born with a PURPOSE. We want to encourage our taitamariki to realise their talents and provide platforms for them to share with their community - and the WORLD.

We also believe that MUSIC heals and COMMUNITY EVENTS create JOY, HAPPINESS, KOTAHITANGA and UNITY - these ingredients providing sustenance for our community spirit and naturally creating a more positive and inspiring environment for our children to live, learn and grow in.
