"Shelly Bay BakerSam Forbes is a bread head and he’s on a quest to produce the tastiest, healthiest bread on the planet…..and he seems to be winning!A chef from the age of 15, he established Shelly Bay Baker in 2018. He outgrew the small bakery in Shelly Bay and is now baking at 133A Park Road in Miramar. Sam designed and built this new facility which includes a bakery, a flour mill and a small retail shop.Sam believes in the power of real bread and acknowledges his role in helping people eat real foods. He uses natural ingredients in all of the breads and natural levains ferments to bake unique and tasty sourdough breads, bagels, baguettes and more."

This is one of the best bakery I have ever tried in Wellington.  My partner and I love to go there and try new breads. Sandwiches are also very fresh and yum, which is really good for my partner’s lunch box or weekend brunch.  Staffs are very friendly, helpful and I do like this local bakery nearby my home. Highly recommended! I wanna try all different breads someday.  Very happy I found such a nice and lovely place I can get fresh breads. To be honest, I don’t enjoy bread a lot or everyday, but this place is exceptional and I love Shelly bay baker’s breads.  Thanks Shelly bay baker! ;

Shelley Bay Baker makes some of the very best bread in Wellington. They deliver too! And they also provide the best organically, locally-grown flour in NZ. I don't know what I'd bake with if they weren't in business.

I love all of Shelly Bay Baker products!!  I especially love their Organic Stoneground wholemeal flour - I use to make my own Swedish Crackers - Excellent product and I would highly recommend!!

Incredible Wellington made sourdough breads, my favourites are the fruit bread, and the olive loaf! Their delivery service is always spot on, reliable and very affordable.

Probably the best bagels in Wellington, large and chewy.  Much more like a traditional bagel than those sold by Ugly Bagels of Holy Bagels I don't count supermarket ones which are pretty underwhelming and have textures more like buns than a traditional chewy bagel.  I have only bought them from the Lower Hutt farmer's market and have not been to the bakery.  4/5 because of their cost. $3.5 each is expensive compared to the competition and at that price I really have to limit my purchases.  $3 would be a fairer price IMHO and say 4 for $11

This is the absolutely best tasting sourdough in wellington. I like the wholemeal/rye and really heavy rye breads. So much tastier than anything else. Marie

Excellent bread, love all the loaves we’ve tried and the hot cross buns are the best. Hope the fougasse makes a return one day.
