Love this place! Always get my sewing notions here and the staff are so knowledgeable! Have some great fabrics as well. They also do sewing machine repairs which has been a lifesaver on several occasions!
My knitting store of choice in Wellington. Jo and her team are always so friendly and helpful with any of my knitting or sewing questions. They have a delicious range of delicious squishy yarns.
Great shop for all crafters. High quality products, they sell ykk zips. The staff are friendly and know what they're talking about. If I can't see what I want on the shelf all I have to do is ask.
As a proud Kilbirnie local, I want to love the Wellington Sewing Centre but the woman who runs it makes this difficult. I went in with 3 children who are avid sewers/crafters and quiet, respectful children. She loudly referred to them as "kids trashing my store" after one of them picked up a ball of wool they were keen on. She proceeded to yell at them and speak to them in a very disrespectful manner, while completely ignoring me. Combined with their anti-cycleway stance, it does not make for a good shopping experience. Her employee who served us was great though, very kind and helpful. If you need sewing supplies and fabric I recommend Stitchbird next to the children's bookshop for a lovely, positive shopping experience.

Fantastic shop. You could get lost in the gorgeous yarns and fabrics. Amazed at the huge range of sewing machines. Wish there was a shop like yours in Christchurch
If motorcycle shops gave customers this much care and attention there'd be a lot more motorcycles sold in NZ. Happily demonstrated machinery and offered good advice.
Lovely shop where we managed to find something my mother Sandy didn't have in her collection. This is the highest praise of quality of this shop, as Sandy is one of the best quilters in New Zealand. Modern till makes everything better at payment, and there's a handy carpark behind the Westpac bank.
Called about getting my sewing machine fixed and the lady on the phone was very helpful. She was able to give some good recommendations. I'll try to support this business in the future.
