Story

Kia ora and welcome.

My name is Shaye Laird. I am a registered midwife practicing in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.
As a midwife I specialize in providing care for normal pregnancy, labour, birth. I also provide care for you and your new baby in the postnatal period. I am able to care for pregnancies, labour and births alongside obstetricians when this is required. As a midwife practicing in New Zealand I work under the midwifery scope of practice, the midwifery standards of practice and the registered midwives competencies.

I view pregnancy and birth as normal life events and feel privileged to be able to share this special time with women and their families.
My aim as your midwife is to build a trusting partnership with you and work alongside you and your family to provide a service which is supportive, sensitive and respectful towards you.
