Was really looking forward to having some yummy kaimoana from here but unfortunately it wasn't great to be honest. The batter was so hard must have been left to long in the deep fryer. Had to peel the batter off nearly everything we ordered because it was so hard.
My go to fish n chip store. Fresh fish and fisherman basket is worth it !nI’ve tried ringing them on Friday /Saturday nights so I don’t have to wait 15-25mins. But no use, they don’t pick up during busy hours, have to walk in.nHowever the last time I’ve been here, the fish of day was awful - fish was super chewy and bouncy. Next time I’ll ask fish of the day before ordering, but otherwise it has been good !
The seafood wasn’t fresh. oysters were sour& smelly the fish must have been rubbish because it looked like boiled chicken when it broke apart and i also ordered the paua on fries it tasted liked it had peanut butter in it, instead of the creamy look you normally have it was brown and oily.
On Oct 1, I spent $10 for 1 fish and 1 chips.nOn Oct 7, I spent $15 for 2 fish and 1 chips, but the portions were actually smaller than the $10 one.nI called to check if they might have given me the wrong portions, but they said they actually gave me extra.
Paua on chips were so bad, both tasted old and sour. Couldn’t even force myself to eat it and threw it out
