School's Out Gloucester provide quality before-school, after-school and holiday programme care, based at Bay Baptist Church, 79 Gloucester Street, Greemeadows.

Story

School’s Out Bledisloe is based at Bledisloe School but also caters for pupils from Arthur Miller School, Fairhaven School, Greenmeadows Primary, Reignier Catholic School and Taradale Primary. We have 3 minivans that allow us to drop children to these schools in the morning and pick up in the afternoons.

We strive to achieve a large family, friendly atmosphere. Even though we care for at least 75 children each day, we pride ourselves on knowing, respecting and treating each child as an individual. During the school term, children attending are aged between 5 and 9 years. When we feel the 9 year olds are ready for more responsibility, we move them up to our sister School’s Out programme - Club 22, where the children become more independent and contribute more to the day to day running of the programme.

Our staff are carefully chosen and expected to share and teach their talents within the programme. Many of us are qualified or training in areas of Art, Performing Arts and Music, which is reflected in the amazing art work created by the children especially during the holiday programmes.

Our after school sessions include afternoon tea and an opportunity for children to complete their homework. We communicate closely with the school, supporting and reinforcing their values.

We run one of the most popular Holiday programmes in the Hawkes Bay. It usually follows a theme and includes a couple of trip days per week to local attractions. The centre-based days are a hive of activity, with children given a range of activities to choose from. We also understand that children sometimes need to rest and relax so they can go back to school ready to learn.
