Scenic Hotel, Marlborough

We had reserved two rooms at premium prices - my bed was so soft I tried to have a nap but my shoulder and neck was in agony - after calling reception 6 times with no answer I went down there - they did offer me a different room but the bed was just as bad. My son swapped with me - I had a decent sleep in his bed and he slept on the floor as the bed was like a 'sponge cake', the charging stations attached to the wall above the desk in both rooms were not working so our phones didn't charge and we overslept and missed our appointment the next morning. Other than that the rooms were lovely and clean - one of the showers had mouldy grout - apart from that everything was nice. Really annoyed that I paid top dollar for two rooms and my son ended up having to sleep on the floor! Would NEVER stay again.

I would highly recommend Scenic Hotel Marlborough to anyone. Both myself and my friend had lovely rooms, clean, tidy, well serviced and comfortable. The only downfall was the pillows. We really enjoyed the spa and sauna and the hospitality of the staff. Thanks to Carmel and her team for hosting us.

Facility and staff was good packed with all the luxury like. Spa, sauna pool, haven't tried the dinner but buffet breakfast was really nice, but the cleaning is not up to the expections, room has spider webs, quit cover with tea stains, and the. Mattress was horrible, wouldn't expect that.Rooms: 2/5

Had been there for business and then got caught out by a flight cancellation due to adverse weather so got to stay an extra night. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to requests. The rooms are tidy and well presented. A bonus was that I had a window I could open as I always sleep with one open. The food is exceptional with a variety of dishes even though there were supply chain issues. Shops were within walking distance and there is a lovely park across the road. To be honest this place was a hundred times better than the so called 5 star hotel I had stayed at in Christchurch a few nights before. Highly recommend.

Very friendly staff. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean and reasonably spacious. Tucked away enough that it was quiet. Just across a nice little park/square where you can have a pleasant 5-minute stroll to get to restaurants and shopping.Rooms: 5/5

Usually a great experience. One front desk person I did not get his name, was very dismissive unlike the usual greetings you get. Otherwise great place...funny how one person or interaction can alter an experience.Rooms: 5/5

The hotel was just out of the town centre and ideal for taking a wine tour or two. Good parking with lots of street parking around. We didn't eat at the hotel but food looked good. Our room was good, spacious and had everything we needed.

Staff service was great, however if you want to park onsite as it states when you book, complimentary parking, however, check if they are fully booked as if they are you are asked to park on the road, no! If you do not have a credit card then they ask for a bond, and the requests kept coming until I said no. Did not pay the bond and as a female travelling alone, and getting up for a very early morning meeting eventually got a card so I could park onsite in the overflow parking, not great at all. Rooms were clean and roomy, bathroom really small and pokey, but clean. OK, not sure I would stay again though.

Overall had a great stay. The location is awesome, the amenities are nice, especially the spa and sauna. The staff are what makes this place five stars, they’re all so helpful and friendly.

Good place to stay when in Blenheim. Recommend getting a south facing room during summer as the rooms heat up during the day. Breakfast was pretty good too. Walkability: Close to town. A nice river walk is only minutes away.
