Salsa Latina has Reuben, Milena, Robyn. Didn't realised at first that they were top level competitors in latin dancing, not only that, they are top notch teachers. Speaking from experience having had 2 previous teachers in NZ and Europe. They are sharp but make it fun and know how to get people to find the right mix of fun and discipline, thet ultimately needed to progress forward. Whether you like Salsa, Bachata or Kizomba and more. So really all I can say is come along for the top notch teaching and also the very nice and friendly social nights hosted here, as they are a nice and safe place to practice no matter if you're feeling confident or not yet. Without forgetting: the workshops on weekends that include specific teaching on specific moves and from often NZ wide guest specialist teachers. The full Monty!
Such a great welcoming dance studio, a fantastic place to meet new people, dance classes are fun and in no time you will have come along in your dancing. The studio also puts on great social events and social dancing alongside classes. Even if you have danced before or never even tried dancing go along and you'll see how good it is! Thanks Reuben/Robyn and all the other teachers.
Been the best latin dance studio in Christchurch for many years, probably always will be. Take a free taster class, meet some new people! Brilliant skill if you plan to travel, the perfect ice breaker. Teaching fundamentals is really strong here, they'll serve you well.
Definitely a top dance school in New Zealand. I really enjoy the classes and the technique taught here. All teachers are very skilled, patient and make you feel at ease. It's also a lot of fun. Definitely recommend whether you're a beginner or already addicted to dancing!!
When I first came to Salsa Latina I had no Latin dance experience at all, so it was a bit daunting. But they made me feel so relaxed, the environment is really friendly and the classes are fun but also really clear and very skilled. You learn so much each time, and its addictive! I do salsa and bachata classes and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something new and fun with some really great knowledgeable people.
I started dancing at Salsa Latina a little over a year ago now. Before starting classes, I always wanted to learn partner dancing, after finding and trying to join in with a few socials overseas. At Salsa Latina, you’re encouraged to go to social nights, which there are plenty of to practice and progress quicker and dancers are supported to compete if ready. After one year I’ve found... an amazing group of friends, fun nights out, quick progression, better coordination and a love for learning competition routines. Everyone should give dancing a go and this is a great place to start!
