Story

Sacred Heart College is a state-integrated single-sex girls' Catholic secondary school located in Lower Hutt, New Zealand.It was established in 1912 by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and was the first secondary school to be opened in the Hutt Valley. It was originally sited in high street on the property known as Margaret street. In 1957 the school was shifted to the existing site on Laings Road. In May 1980 it became the first Catholic secondary school to be integrated under the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975. The school has six house groups: Lisieux (Pink), Avila (Red), Aubert (Green), Lourdes (Light Blue), Barbier (Dark Blue) and Siena (Yellow).Notable alumnae Stephanie Dowrick (born 1947), writer and spiritual teacher Catherine Chidgey (born 1970), novelist

When school is faced with issues and feels the reputation is threatened; they deal with the problem poorly, negatively impacting the students hauora, hoping to cover it up and make the school look like a good place. Whilst the school does have a slightly wide variety of subjects and courses; many teachers execute their roles poorly, affecting students motivation. Parents, have a think about this before you send your children here. do you want the best for your children? if so, consider our experiences and dont make the same mistake our parents did. There seems to be little or no control of bullying behavior at this college. Both my children attended Sacred Heart and left due to very negative behavior. It's extremely sad to see that the school is unable to control these issues.
I'm pushed to even give this school any type of star at all. They don't appear to have any bulling policy at all. Unless you are able to jump up and down making loads of noise you don't get anywhere. If you have any brains you won't put your daughter in here. I removed my daughter years ago because of the bullying now same happening to granddaughter. Going to the Ministers office cause I'm fed up with it
disgustingly horrid school if i could rate lower i would. over half the staff is absolutely useless and does not know how to deal with students, absolutely do not care about their wellbeing. Please do not send your tamariki here unless you want them to have a miserable 5 years.
It's very poor in style and the teachers are racist to the polynesian community they slave us around and use racist comments like the n words and called us coconuts they act very poorly to situations that happen around the school like fights and etc making students feel like school is not a good place to be
this school deserves 0 stars. i attended sacred heart for 2 years. an incident happened with one of the male teachers, the principal and school overall dealt with it poorly. the male teacher is unfortunately still working at shc. since the school didn’t do much about it, i had no choice but to leave. i do not recommend shc as the principal and teachers seem to only care about what the school looks like, more then the well-being’s of their students
