Service is quite a bit slow even with the items that are in shelves ready for meals. The staff attitudes are also a hit and miss with some of them being nicer than the others. Food is okay considering it is a highway diner. It is what it is, so only go in with expectations to grab something better than the gas station meal choices.
Lovely food and the best service ever. The lady behind the counter is so cheerful and very helpful
Food wasn't that good my husband ordered fish and chips but was disappointed to find that instead of the snapper he expected it was frozen fish fillets. I had a salad which was drowned in so much vinegary dressing my lips were tingling and the bacon was dried and crunchy not freshly cooked. However the coffee was good.
Coffee took 20minutes to come out only to be room temperature and bland. Had to wait an 40 minutes for food wedges and waffles the waffles were stale and gross. Banans tasted off... fruit was old service was slow and waitress was rude. Spilling coffee and thrown down on our table.would not recommend
Stopped in on the way north from Auckland. I ordered the savoury mince. It was taste less and had been thickened with flour. My wife had the corn fritters and they were doughy and undercooked in the middle. The display case only had a hand full of things to choose from and were basically 60% empty. Definitely will not be going back.
Food was over priced for what you get service wasn't great. My partner ordered the mix breakfast $14.50 he basically paid for a plate of baked beans poor quality sausage slice of bacon and one egg. I ordered a frittata it's was served cool because it wasn't heated properly.
Tables where dirty. Wanted to sit outside but the outside seating area is majorly neglected. The Food was cold. Ask for extra bacon which we didnt recieve. Asked for flat white coffee and recieved a cappachino. Lady that was serving food did not know where food was going. Gave the wrong orders to the wrong people. The wait for the coffee and food was ridiculously long. Would not recommend to a poor mans dog. Dont waste your money
Great pit stop on the way home from my son's stay in hospital. He really wanted fish and chips. They were cooked very well - not soggy, but just the right amount of crunch.
Not sure about this one. Very friendly and obliging owner operator. The breakfast sizes were a tad small. No 1 Son ordered pankakes & bacon, he got just one pancake - leaving him still hungry. No 2 son had waffles with fruit, he got one waffle the shape and size of which was very similar to what you get from a Warehouse waffle maker and a bowl of chopped fruit. No 2 son commented to us the fruit tasted funny, and indeed it did. It had been salted to stop it going brown and was quite unpleasant. On taking the fruit back, the staff were apologetic and made another fresh lot.,.. it took a little while, and we suspect they ducked out to get some items to complete the dish. Coffee was passable. Family consensus on this one is that they could do better. So just an "OK" rating for this one.
The worst chocolate milkshake I've ever had. The Chicken, Bacon and Mushroom Filo roll was dry and tasteless. 2 tiny bits of bacon and I couldn't taste or see any mushroom. One of our party of three people had a toasted Ham and Cheese sandwich. There was cheese covering about a third of the sandwich and it was not toasted ... only warmed. The coffee was average. Needless to say we will not be going back there.
