Happened to be there on the last day of the harvest season, and we were deeply impressed by the wine, service and view. Sophie and Vanessa were super helpful with the booking and tasting. This is a must visit in Wānaka if you are into wines. The Pinot we tried were some of the best we ever had.
The most beautiful vineyard we’ve been to anywhere in the world. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the setting alone is worth the visit.nThe wine was amazing, and the tasting experience—especially being complimentary—was exceptional. Everything felt thoughtful and well executed. Just make sure to book in advance, as it can fill up quickly.nMy only regret is not buying a few bottles while we were there.nnPhotos taken in January
Rippon offers some of the most breathtaking views in Central Otago—the setting alone makes it a must-visit. The cellar door is beautiful, and the staff were absolutely wonderful, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout our visit.nnHowever, while the experience was great, I was a bit disappointed with the wine selection for the tasting. I felt the pours offered didn't quite showcase the full potential or the high reputation of the winery. I would have loved to see some of their more premium or representative bottles included to truly reflect the excellence Rippon is known for. Still worth a visit for the scenery and the service!
Free wine tasting in wanaka!nnRippon is a privately owned winery in wanaka. We tried 4 different types of wine and they were all extremely smooth and fresh.nnMe and my partner love a chilled red and their pinot noir was probably the best we’ve tasted.nnThey make you taste a sparkling pinot noir, a chardonnay, and two pinot noirs. We bought a bottle of their wanaka village pinot noir and can’t wait to open it on our next date night.nnIt is completely free and you don’t have to pay anything or buy anything after the tasting if you don’t want to!nnIt is a bit further away from wanaka town but only a 10mins drive away.nn100% recommended.
We visited Rippon today and had a wonderful experience! We tasted four different types of wine, and my husband and I absolutely loved the Sauvignon Blanc—we were so glad we could buy a bottle right there to take home with us.nThe estate has incredibly beautiful scenery and is perfect for taking photos. I highly recommend Rippon as a must-visit destination if you are traveling to Wanaka!
