Stopped for a coffee and a light bite and - OMG! We had a couple of the filo pastry tarts, a ginger and pistachio bite and an almond croissant, as well as a couple of coffees, and they were fantastic!nnThe tarts were a meal in themselves, and full of flavour, the pastries were delicious with plenty of ginger in mine and the coffee was perfectly roasted and poured.nnDefinitely worth a visit
Wow !! I’ve been to many bakeries but Ringawera is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! I love the fact that everything is freshly made every single day! The amount of effort the bakers put in is incredible my favorite is the Almond Croissant and Chocolate Swiss and of course the sourdough is just greatnWith that a nice warm Hot Chocolate from the friendly team in the front nRingawera never disappoints
I love their Mochaccino but not so much on their Flat white unless it is the older white haired guy barista who is preparing the coffee. The bacon and egg galette is my go to pastry in this cafe.
I research the best ginger crunch… Not ginger slices with doughy base, but great crunchy base! I’ve found it at Ringawera Baker, Matakana Village. Perfect amount of ginger topping with a pistachio bonus. Brilliant. The term ringawera refers to the people who prepare the food. They certainly do. Coffee was very good too!
I’m giving this review as feedback, and I do apologise because every time I visit this bakery, I genuinely look forward to trying something new and it's usually always delicious. But on Sunday, I tried one of their vegetarian GF sandwiches, which looked incredible, packed with avo, lettuce, tomato, and a nice grain bread. Well, that was the worst sandwich I’ve ever had.nThere was no seasoning whatsoever, no salt, no pepper, nothing. It wasn’t toasted either, and I regret not asking for that as melting the cheese might have helped a little. The bread was the biggest disappointment; I’m not sure if it's because it was GF, but it felt like biting into plastic or rubber, or a mix of both. No flavour, no taste. Nothing about this sandwich was pleasant.nI went to the Four Square to buy some mayo and try to improve it, but that didn’t help. This is the first time I’ve been so disappointed with a product from this bakery, and it was $15. I’ll definitely go back because they make amazing pastries and great coffee, but I had to share this feedback on the GF vegetarian sandwich.
