For a second here I forgot where I was, well away from Auckland. This local spot was tucked away amongst a few other shops and cafes. The line out the door caught my eye for sure, I ventured inside for a coffee. This was honestly me being curious as ever. The cabinet food beaming infront of me, well I broke Keto for the day and treated myself to this very delightful lemon croissant, yes you heard right! This creation is honestly the best thing ever, I need more! Oh I almost forgot about the coffee I went in for, the coffee is really good.
Beautiful bakery, beautiful service and food. We were passing through Matakana, the food spor we initially were gonna stop at was closed. We were heading back to the car and my partner and kids spotted walked into this bakery. I will never forget this lovely bakery and the lovely people that served us. You were so generous and lovely to my family and I. Thank you so much also for the beautiful food too, so delicious
We stopped by Matakana for lunch before heading home. The markets weren't running so we had to forage elsewhere and found this place. It is on the main road. We grabbed a few items and walked down near the river to enjoy them.nThe pizzas were interesting as they were more bready than pizzay. Almost like the focaccia with toppings. They were nicely flavoured and the pepperoni was slightly spicy. The quiches were nice. Soft eggy filling full of spinach and toppings. The bacon one had it baked through the quiche while the salmon one was only at the top. Both were nice with a filo base so it was crispy and flakey. I quite liked their danish and croissant. The lemon croissant was interesting with a lemon and vanilla custardy curd.nIt was a nice place for food in lieu of the markets.
First time in and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. Always wondered why the bakery had such a long cue outside it. The food is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.
Such a good iced coffee with caramel!!! Also, had an almond croissant and it was divine - so much oozy warm almond paste
