Huge selection of pies with a constant line out the door. Excellent selection of vegan pies!nI'm not a vegan but have tried some of the vegan pies. Not a big fan of the mince/steak substitutes. I think they use marmite for their meatiness and it just tasted a little too much. Could be good with sauce. Their vegan chicken pie & sausage roll were good.nNow the meat pies. B&E was great. Palusami & lamb was not to my taste. Too salty and the lamb was gristly and tasted cheap.nPastry was top notch on all of the pies.
Came here on the hunt for creamed paua pie and ended up getting other foods. In the end got the creamed paua, venison Guinness cheese pie and blueberry tart. All 3 pies were so damn good, pastry nice and flaky, the venison was filling and the paua was creamy but not much filling. Can understand why though with the price /kg for paua.nnThe place is pricey as whole so don't expect to spend cheap but the reward is getting premium tasting pies so didn't mind to spend it just to try it. It's not pies you'd eat regularly like a steak n cheese, this bakery is more for an experience. They had a lobster pie which I completely forgot about and was the other reason why I wanted to come here but that pie is $22! Would have to come back next time when I'm rich to try it.nnOverall a pretty kool experience eating pies you don't usually find everyday. Recommended, but don't be surprised by how pricey it is
Last Saturday, I bought lobster pie for the second time and noticed the price had gone up. Last time it was $22, but this time it was $25. However, I still craved it, so I bought one lobster pie and a steak mushroom pie. Unfortunately, the lobster pie was disappointing this time. First, I only found one small piece of lobster meat inside. The mashed potatoes had turned into many hard potato chunks! It is not smash potatoes! The $25 price was not worth it at all! Not happy with that at all!
Saw this place online and decided to try the legendary lobster pie, that’s the most expensive pie I’ve ever had at $19! What you get is 3 chucky pieces of lobster meat, how big? Approximately index finger in length chopped in 3 pieces, they also put blocks of potatoes in. It tastes like lobster and the puree is good. It is what you call a treat. Mince pie is also nice. Love the buttery pastry.
Overhyped bakery.nSteak and jalapeño pie, steak pieces were dry, cheese and jalapeño migrated or only on 1/2 the pie as I only tasted steak and gravy at the start-midway.nJam donut has that generic old school childhood taste, cream definitely has a lot of sugar in it.
