Story

Founded in 1889, Rangi Ruru has a strong history and tradition of one of New Zealand’s best known and respected schools.
It has an excellent reputation for academic success in a wide range of subject choices. Rangi Ruru is consistently placed amongst the top achieving schools in New Zealand in many academic, sporting and creative pursuits.
With a roll of around 700 girls in Years 7 to 13, including 120 boarders, the school is small enough to ensure that individual student needs are met and big enough to offer an extensive range of subjects and programmes.
Rangi Ruru is a christian school affiliated with the Presbyterian church. It is a safe and friendly school, with a close school community, strong pastoral care network and set of school values.

This is an AMAZING school. I currently go there now, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to to transfer here. The teachers are amazing, they care about you and your wellbeing, and there is from VERY little to no bullying at all. You learn a lot in classes, and while the school is quite expensive it is DEFINETLY worth it! If you are considering sending your girls to a private school this is definetly one to consider. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of each other!
Went here and was class of 2018, can confirm they hold seances under the chapel at 2am. Jokes aside, it's a really good school and it gives you a lot of opportunities and has good support from the teachers. There are a lot of clan activities, advice from the seniors for the juniors and more. Sport is a big part of Rangi, or at least it was when I went there. There is a school counselor available and was ok. Personally not for me. All in all there is a sense of community.
Went here 2016-2022. Really good school with lovely staff and amazing facilities! I already miss it, it is a very special place and helped me to achieve great things.
Rangi Ruru is the BEST school I've ever been to because everyone is inclusive, kind and caring. I go to Rangi, and I strongly recommend you to come and visit it! IT'S THE BEST!!!!!
It’s a great great great way for kids to learn and play with their friends the school was wonderful everyday my daughter comes home with something new it is a private school and the rooms are very clean and comfortable
