It is a must-visit spot for nature lovers and those looking for relaxation.
Visited recently on the 2nd and final day in Queenstown.nStaying close by at Lakeside Motel, it is just a short walk to here, no need to drive.nnThe garden is not big, built on the peninsula jutting out to the lake but there are still enough to see and explore.nFrom the motel could see the gardens in the distance and from the gardens nice to see the city waterfront from opposite side.
Beauty and serenity bloom in these gardens, where warm flowers and graceful trees embrace the soul. Walk hand in hand with your loved one, and it feels like a gentle journey through heaven on earth.
A beautiful park. Very green, a nice pond, clean and super safe. The beach is also there with crystal clear waters. And of course surrounding shops, restaurants and cafes. I can see why it is popular among locals and tourists.
We enjoyed walking in the gardens after a meal nearby. The local botanical gardens is not very big but has just the right bits for a pleasant park stroll in an almost unbeatable waterside location with breathtaking mountain views along the foreshore. The rose garden, lilies on the pond and forested area with giant trees are highlights. We finished the walk with a stroll along the foreshore that leads back to town centre.nnIt's also summer time here and school holidays. Kids on mountain bikes are not uncommonly riding at the foreshore so be careful when walking. If you're Asian, don't be surprised at the endemic casual racism e.g. white people smiling and saying arigato with no context apart from being err...racist. We may look the same to you but we're not all Japanese.
