We came all the way from Colorado just to see this tree.
Was promised a big tree and it was indeed a big tree, a very wide trunk.....yeah guess that's everything, it's a big tree.
A special spot in the middle of a street. A magic tree
This tree was planted in 1870 and is listed as one of the tallest trees in New Zealand at 46 metres, even though it is not a native of NZ.nnThe elevation of Queenstown is ideally suited, situated 310 metres 1,017ft above sea level at latitude 45 degrees south and longitude 169 degrees west.nnWalking around the base of giant sequoia can cause them harm, as it compacts the soil around their shallow roots and prevents the trees from getting enough water.nnSomeone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.
Awesome little path.
