Stunning gardens and pond area. Well established rose gardens of many varieties. Very well maintained and picture perfect in places. History monuments of Antarctic exploration and main persons in the early 1900s. New playground for kids and nice path surrounding the gardens and waterfront. Frisby Golf is amongst the trees and a great view of the mountains.
Delightful, but not visited by many! Queenstown has become anonymous with adventure activities which has meant that places such as Queenstown Gardens are not visited by many. We are glad we visited these delightful gardens. They are so close to the city centre / Marine Parade. In addition to formal gardens, there are nice walks - one around the lake shore. I would highly recommend visiting.
Stumbled across the gardens when going for a stroll about. Third time I’ve been to Queenstown, and was first time at gardens. It was a really lovely walk around the lake. The playground was fun for kids. People enjoying the frisbee golf course. Can definitely recommend for the views, atmosphere and a lovely walk in general. I would return.
Beautiful at Autumn time. Red and yellow leaves with green green grass and Trees. The walkway is easy with great view. Must visit when you stay at Queenstown especially at autumn. You can like me to take some bread there for the teals.
The last stopover before going back to Sydney. Beautiful autumn trees and they have playground for kids as well. Love the ambiance, if you love nature then this is a good place to have a bit of walk and sightseeing.
Cool gardens! They have tennis courts, lawn bowling, and the cream on top is the disk golf/nature walk/hike! I walked the nature walk, there's some bumpiness but you could totally go for a run around the outside next to the lake. There's also gardens inside the center that are small but well maintained, and they have lots of places where you can do activities. It's also next to the beach which has some serene lake waters for you to swim in. Nice spot, recommended stop if you're in town.
Beautiful garden. Childrens playground at the start of the park and a nice lakeside stroll from the Queenstown end to the the opposite direction. Along the way, you will come to an exposed outcrop which provides an excellent view of the mountains. It gets windy at this juncture. On the return leg, you can walk on the inner side which gives a very different experience with beautiful pine trees, a rose garden and well kept grounds. A short but enjoyable experience and can be a good place to picnic as well.
A beautiful area to get away from the tourist crowds of central Queenstown. There's a nature walk skirting the lake edge with great mountain views & some epic exotic & native trees. Plenty of benches on the lake edge to relax & take in the scenery. Some rose gardens & statues with a lake & play areas for kids
A superb place to do a picnic! The garden is right next to the lake overlooking the steam ships and other boats that are along the marina parade. The garden itself is well maintained and has quite a few things to look at.
Luma light show was absolutely amazing. Three generations had a blast. Well done to the organizers, the volunteers and the performers. We'll be back next year. It may have been only one degree Celsius all needed to be dressed appropriately.
