Great place doing awesome conservation work. They breed and raise kiwis till they are self-sufficient and release them to the wild. Very interesting kiwi feeding and conservation show too. Suitable for adults and kids alike! Family-run park without government funding, deserves to be supported! Suggest you plan at least 1.5 hours for this visit!
A lovely conservation park with a range of beautiful animals, it is a family run animal park that supports and looks after the local animal, ok you came here for Kiwis and yes they do have Kiwis but because they are nocturnal creatures they are kept in the dark, what might be a good idea is to give visitors night vision glasses to see them better. All in all the staff are well trained and really care for the animals. I do recommend checking this place out.
I really don't know y is it called a Kiwi Park. Hardy ever saw a kiwi bird. House 1 and 2 had no kiwi birds as those were released to wild. That was what the notices displayed. Few birds are there. Couple of fish too. A cafe and a gift shop was there. I doubt whether it worth the price. Follow their timing displayed if u want to have a chance to see kiwi bird. But there were few in a dark room. Yet could not really see one well.
We loved going here. Both the conservation show and the kiwi house were awesome. They have several shows a day, so look at their website to be sure when it is. Nice that they do all this for the birds. First time we saw kiwis in real life. Nice place, worth to go there.
Awesome experience for nature lovers. Wonderful conservation, native rewilding, quality animal welfare and training and informative shows and audio tour. Really worth the price which allows them to continue conservation efforts. Lovely up close encounters with very special birds and reptiles.
This Park is the best kiwi viewing in the Country, it is also the best viewing of native birdlife, your not searching for the birds they are so well displayed, and the enclosures are so well presented. It is well worth the visit and a fantastic bird show. Great job guys you’re doing a fabulous job of caring for NZ wildlife!
This place is fantastic! The presentations were very informative and we appreciated the exposure to their mission. My husband and I were happy to contribute to it with our fun visit to Kiwi Birdlife Park. Well thought out place with a beautiful landscape. Well worth the visit!!!
We found the park very educational and full of interesting birds and fauna. It was the first time we were able to view the kiwi birds in their special dark enclosures and heard very clearly and loudly the male kiwi bird call. I found also the New Zealand's Tuatara incredible that these reptiles are one of the earliest branches of animals to separate and still are here today.
Both the Kiwi experience and the Conservation show were very informative and I was amazed by the birds and animals. And who doesn’t love to see kiwi birds? They even started to make noices after everyone else left, it was so loud but unique experience. Now in the autumn/winter the park doesn’t get any sun during the day so dress warm! We managed to spend 3 hours in the park walking around and admiring the birds. You can manage in an hour if you just stroll around and go see the kiwis.
Kiwi sighting guaranteed. We got to see 4 kiwis in the dark easily once our eyes adjusted. The kids really enjoyed the Kiwi feeding and the Conservation Show. Check out the daily times so you don't miss out. You would spend around 2 hours here tonsee everything including the 2 x shows. The keepers were very informative. The tickets are valid for 3 consecutive days and there is discount if buying online before
