Eating insects have been a key protein source in our diets throughout the ages, from the earliest hunter-gathers to modern diets of people all over the world today. Primal Future is taking this primitive idea of eating insects as food and bringing it into the future with cricket powder

We are New Zealand’s premium supplier of organic 100% cricket powder which is made of specially farmed crickets, which are then ground and milled to make a flour. Cricket powder can be added to smoothies or baked goods to give a protein and vitamin boost and increase foods nutritional content. Cricket powder is an excellent source of complete protein with a full amino acid profile. It is also low in fat, rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, and iron, it also contains a high amount of vitamin B1, B6, and B12.

Throughout the ages, insects have been a main protein source in the Paleolithic diets of the earliest hunter-gathers to the modern diets of people all over the world today. Currently, 80% of the worlds’ cultures regularly eat insects, being a key staple in their diet in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia.

Each year the population increases by around 70 Million people. In a 2013 report by the United Nations it is expected that at this rate in 2050 the population is expected to be 9.6 Billion people. To be able to feed all of those hungry mouths, food production will need to nearly double. A possible solution, insects!
