Had a wonderful stay at Porters - lovely room, king size bed, with everything you need, and a small private balcony. Perfect part of town, so close to everything, undercover parking included. We found the staff to be absolutely top notch, so welcoming and happy to do absolutely anything to make your stay as good as possible. In particular, we'd like to compliment Christopher, who was so helpful and kind. On the nights we were there, the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast, so we were given vouchers to Maina nearby and it serves about the best breakfast you could find anywhere! Basically, this is a great hotel, they're doing everything right.
Beautiful rooms & location. The staff at checkin weren’t super accommodating though. We booked directly through their website & had been emailed payment confirmation. However upon checkin we were informed payment hadn’t been taken which was very confusing. Other than that, this place is great
Overall impression was good Staff pleasant and facilitating, central location, clean, warm, secure parking included. Priced at the mid to high end of the market I felt it was about right.
What a fantastic venue! Quality of service from Chris, the manager, was great especially when we enquired about spa services and he came up to deliver the menu for the service. Room was impeccable, spotlessly cleaned and well laid out. The use of Real World products was a great touch! Note: Would be awesome if there was a bit more warmth from Ashlee at reception upon our arrival. She was polite and courteous but would’ve loved a friendly smile and human connection to get her customer service to the next level.
I spent two nights in Porters with my family. The hotel location is awesome nearby almost everything you need including laundry and supermarket beside all kinds of restaurants. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. They didn't keep any effort to make us feel comfortable and give us recommendations for beaches and other places. The rooms were very clean and big enough to fit our small family for a very comfortable stay. We loved staying there and we would go back some day.
Great central location. Friendly staff and well appointed rooms. Unfortunately the gym is down the road at Flex Fitness which is closed most of the weekend. If you like Italian food walk down the street to Alessandros, it's the best spot in Havelock North.
Amazing place to stay. We had to work down Napier/Hastings and needed a place that was quite and peacefull. This place is central to some amazing restaurants. Service was on point, rooms spacious and very clean/tidy. High level on all accounts. Definitely stay here when down here.
Wonderful place. Staff on the front desk were welcoming and incredibly helpful. Beautiful room, very tasteful decor, it was a great choice of hotel for work and would be for holiday as well. So perfectly located, walking distance to everything you could need. Highly recommend.
Great service, everyone was super nice and helpful, can do attitude for everything. The location is perfect in the middle of downtown. Rooms were nice and spacious, well decorated and nice beds. They have one of the best restaurants in town and breakfast was amazing!
Porters is a beautiful place to stay. We chose a bigger room with separate lounge and a bathroom with a bath & shower. There is everything you want in the room with TV's in both bedroom and lounge, full functioning kitchen, mini bar with snacks and the decor was simple yet elegant. It did feel luxurious and was worth the extra cost. The restaurant, Malo based next door is also worth a visit. Parking is available underneath and reception is happy to assist with tour bookings and suggestions for local activities.
