Wow in every way!! Beautiful kind greeting by the General Manger Michael after even taking a late night booking from me the night before. Michael was so informative as well. From the beautiful gardens to the clean gorgeous rooms what more could you want. If I could give an 11/10 I would. Peaceful, elegant and charming!! I feel like we are in heaven for a few nights. We hit the jackpot!
We went here for High tea this afternoon. Very beautiful welcoming place! The staff were lovely, helpful and made our experience all the more richer. The food was delicious, the wine full of flavor, and the scenery stunning. Highly recommend
Stayed in the Lady Watties Suite with my daughter to celebrate her birthday, it was absolutely stunning. Tucked away from the homestead surrounded by beautiful gardens and so peaceful. Our stay was wonderful the service was exceptional and the set dinner menu beautiful!! We would go back again. Thank you for a lovely weekend.Rooms: 5/5
Came here last weekend for a get away! Beautiful space and grounds! Lovely introduction to the facilities. Only fault was that we booked in for the high tea and received no tea?! After 45mins we went and asked for one and didn't get any further offers for more so after our one tea we left back to our room. Unsure if this is custom for this place but very unusual from other high teas have been too. There did only seem to be one waiter on. Would stay again but wouldn't book in for any food service!
Visited for High Tea and was very impressed. Service was great, our table looked out on the garden and the food and tea options were fabulous. One point I'd make is it would have been great if the vol-au-vents were heated.Service: 5/5
Managapapa restaurant was the venue for my mums surprise 60th birthday party for 27 guests. Michael was fantastic with communication to organise the party from out of HB. The venue was gorgeous, we had a private room and the table setup was perfect. Food was exceptional, 3 course set menu with extra sides and they accommodated our 3 children with a mini 3 course kids menu. The waiter even took our kids to see the farm animals! Great selection of wine and drinks. The service was impeccable, food came out at just the right time. A great place for a small event, you will definitely be looked after by Michael and his team. Highly recommend!!
A little getaway for a anniversary was lovely. Staff were nice and accomdating throughout the short visit. Both high tea and 3 course meal were very well made and presented. Perfect portioning so we werent left hungry. The grounds are looked after with complimentry uses of tennis court and bikes for some sightseeing. The pool wasnt cleaned as it wasnt very warm so not missing out on anything. The spa pool and suana are great with a large spa and sauna. Showers in the pool house with bathrobes available. Rooms: Smallest king room is nice with a very comfy bed. deck that goes out around the main building. Steps stairs which may be difficult for low mobility people. Food & drinks: Onsite food and drinks are pricy but very good. High tea has a well thought selection from the savoury to sweet. 3 course meal is really more like 5 courses with lots of extra bits of food to keep you occupied. Noteworthy details: Spa and sauna available in the pool house. Perfect when it is not very busy.
I was looking forward to my Rejuvenation Package, valued at $220 which included a massage and 2 hour use of the spa, sauna, pool etc, but was very disappointed. I didn't enjoy the massage, had to share the small spa and sauna with 2 couples and staff were cleaning around me while I was trying to relax. I don't mind sharing a spa and sauna with other people, but if that was what I was looking for, I could've just gone to Ocean Spa or even a local pool. I also made a complaint about it and the manager just wanted to dispute it.
Excellent food, location is perfect. Not to far from the wine regions. Close to Napier and Hastings. Nice quiet retreat.Rooms: 5/5
Dinner there. Excellent attentive but not intrusive staff, great chef and wonderful 4 course dinner with extras.would go again antime. Wonderful botique hotel in what was once James Wattie's home on lovely private grounds, located on Napier road between Havelock North and Napiee.Service: 5/5
