Great value for money. The twin room was more spacious than expected, the staff were friendly, and the location was excellent with an easy walk into town. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, with amazing food and a nice discount for hotel guests.nAs the building is older, the walls are rather thin, so some noise does carry, particularly from doors and conversations early in the morning. That said, the hotel has already taken steps to improve this, and a little extra consideration from guests would make a big difference. Overall, the hotel offers many great benefits, and I would still recommend staying here. I’d happily return in the future.
Really short walk into town/the beach which was great. The staff were lovely as were the locals, very welcoming.nIt looks quite unassuming, but I really enjoyed my stay here. Very reasonably priced the food and drinks offerings too, not just the accommodation and if you're staying and dining they give you a discount on the food which is great.nThe bar is really nice and seems to be the place to be for everyone in the neighbourhood. Good selection of drinks.nThe food actually was a revelation, first night I ate there I wasn't massively hungry so just had garlic bread and shrimp cocktail, both of which were great. The second night I had the rib eye with roasted vegetables also came with mash, peas and a sauce of your choice. WOW. Cooked to perfection, everything was delicious and I was actually quite sad I hadn't had steak the night before too!
My second visit here, everything is straight forward and immaculate for the price you pay. I would stay here again if I was to return to Hokitika again. Great friendly host.
Super friendly lady serving us food, nice fish and chips and had gluten free options. Nice friendly pub setting, blokes watching game were a bit loud
The rooms were very well kept with having your own sink as an added bonus. Ample bedding with extra blankets and an electric blanket were perfect to beat the winter chill Check-in process was very simple. The walls however were a little thin.
