The property is a true beachfront hotel. My room and the beach was around 50m apart. I had a room on the ground floor, opening to the beach walk. The sunset from the property was just breathtaking. We were given room 410, everything in the room and property was perfect. The room had everything which you need for a short stay. Electric kettle, lots of tea/coffee sachets, beds were firm yet soft, enough pillows and blankets, super comfy. The bathroom was spacious and clean, lots of towels and toiletries. The in-hotel resturant had a mind blowing view of the beach, the sunset from the deck of the resturant was out of the world. We had big breakfasts on both days of our stay, it was really sumptuous and very tasty, highly recommended. Special mention is for Fay, the front office staff who is a pleasure to talk to and she had all great suggestions for local trips which made it so much easier for us to plan the days and trips. Highly recommended this hotel, absolutely fabulous place, location and staff. Maybe a microwave in the room and a lock in the toilet would have been nicer.
Easy to find, plenty of parking, and about as close to the beach as you can get. Our room was on the small side and a bit dated, but it was super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable bed and great shower. Great value and we'd definitely stay here again.
Checked in, even thought we paid Auckland prices in Hokitika. At this price would expect all amenities that come with a Hotel. For example, sky TV, and the ability to recharge from in-house restaurant.nDecided to move to a local motel who offered sky TV and at a far cheaper room rate.nFay at reception was awesome, along with front of house staff.nCome on owners, charging the rates that you do, there should be no excuse not to provide what a Hotel should be delivering.
The location is great with easy access to food, supermaket, shops etcnI’ve never stayed at a 4 star hotel where I need to put a sign out for servicing. Next day we didn’t put sign out as we hadn’t currently left our room and the cleaner opens the door without a knock and some of us weren’t dressed! and just walked in! The room wasn’t clean, lots of dust - they seem to dust around everything.nWifi is not great. And can’t connect your device to the tv.nCustomer service at reception wasn’t helpful when I talked about the servicing of rooms.nWhen the cleaner came to the room the next day with towels to service we were leaving in 10 mins - I asked them to come back which I could tell really annoyed them.nI would avoid the restaurant for the price and the quality of the food. But also a $2.50 charge for a takeaway box! Ridiculous!!
Beautiful room 426 on 3rd floor. The ocean view was perfect. The only downside was awful WiFi.nBreakfast was good.nLocation is fantastic. Beautiful sunny summer weather and no issues with room temperature.
