Story

"No-one remembers a cheap steak, they do remember a quality steak". Pinehill Butchery is a traditional butcher shop catering to all your requirements including: homemade smoked bacon, ham, biltong, dry wors, and boerwors. We have free range chicken and pork always available.

Our gourmet butchers can prepare those special cuts for you and even tell you the best way to cook it. Game meats can be purchased with 2 or 3 days notice in most cases. Our beef is cold boned and aged for tenderness. All small goods are made on the premises to our own recipes and we also have our own smokehouse.

I have purchased Christmas Hams for the past 22 years for my family and staff through specialist Ham/Bacon suppliers in the Auckland area. Christmas 22 I stuffed up and needed an extra ham on Friday the 23rd of December. Pinehill Butchers were able to supply one on short notice and I would like to add that it was the best tasting ham that I have had. Thank you guys for bailing me out with such a fantastic ham!! My Family loved it! All the very best for 2023!!!!!!!
Update: Pinehill also does the most amazing biltong with perfect marbeling. Well worth the extra $10 per KG. Super delicious As far as I know - the only butcher around that sells racks of smoked pork ribs. Had a few racks from Pinehill Butchery over the years and each time it was a super treat after putting the ribs in the Weber BBQ with a basting souce. And the 2 dogs just love the soft bone ends Consistently perfectly smoked.
Pick up some great dried Wors, you told me you had a new dehydrator and you felt the meat was to dry. 11th Oct 22. PERFECT. taste was mature, but the best part was the intestine was crispy even a week later, previously quit plastic, had to take it off to enjoy the flavour. Used to be our regular for drywores but after yesterday probably won’t be back. We bought a pack that had gone off over 4 days ago? Packed almost 3 weeks ago, my partner bit into it and said it tasted like dog food.. it took a while to get the taste out of his mouth too… went back and asked for a fresh replacement or a refund. Younger guy behind the counter didn’t seem concerned at all and without any apology or removal of the other drywores on display that were also out of date, he ended up replacing it then proceeded to charge us an extra whole 30 cents because he overweighed it.. our other option was for him to break off a tiny piece to make the difference lol.. staff definitely need some training in rectifying their own mistakes within the business and on their customer service too.
Went today and they didn't have plain biltong only chakalaka! Not everyone eats that flavour!
Amazing. Go. Buy. This shop makes your standard supermarket cuts look like tiny mean emulating slithers. And super nice service from the groovy female staff member who served us. Prices were more than fair, and a massive selection. They're happy to tailor to your volume requirements. Support this shop, they totally deserve it! I would go so far as saying that it was a privilege to shop there, which I've never felt compelled to say when sourcing a protein hit. Only warning - I left with triple the amount of meat I required - it's impossible to choose.
Delish butchery. Such a great option for a stop on the way home when you have nothing to cook. They have loads of marinated things ready to pop in the oven. Different to other butchers. Yum biltong. And great dog treats packaged and ready to go.
Wow is the best description of this artisan butchery. The presentation and quality of meat and poultry products is nothing short of excellent The service is personalized and friendly and very helpful. If they don't have something you want or need then just ask and they will go out of their way to fulfill your request. As for the Artisan side of products on offer, I would recommend the Pork Lolliepop or any of the HUGE variety of Handmade Sausages, the Kebabs are also amazing, not to forget any of the other cuts of meat you might desire. This shop also has a HUGE selection of Biltong for which they are well known. Then they also have a huge range of products for our 4 legged friends and family members our pet dogs, ranging from fresh bones to dried dog treats and chews. My partner and I have been here several times now and you definately get what you pay for and the freshness of the food makes cooking a joy and we have never been disappointed with anything we have bought. So in short I would HIGHLY Recommend a visit to this Bucher even if it means going out of your way. Enjoy
Have been purchasing from Pinehill Meats for many years. A combination of reasonable pricing, high quality product and a knowledgable friendly team make this a great shopping experience. Have never been disappointed. Try it for yourself - well worth the visit!
Great range of high quality meat. Their sausages are delicious - lots of flavour and worth the price. We tried both the sundried tomato beef and the chicken cranberry chestnut. The chicken kebabs were very tender and juicy. Both the Moroccan and chili lime kebabs were delicious. Would definitely recommend this butcher if you are preparing for a barbecue. The only small thing to note is that it was a bit difficult to hear the butcher when we were being served as there are products sitting on top of the counter obstructing the conversation.
