At Wanaka Pilates I aim to heal & enrich lives through functional movement. I am dedicated to achieving clients’ goals in Pilates by incorporating postural awareness, flexibility, core control, overall strength and stability training.
I teach small mat classes for up to 7 people. Such small classes allow for personal attention and I can adapt exercises to suit individual needs taking into consideration injuries, pain, or special goals of each client. I also will arrange classes for groups of people - so bring your friends.
Class times vary so contact me for a schedule to see if there is a time that suits you.
My passion is Pilates. I have been teaching Pilates mat for since 2009 and studio apparatus classes since 2012. I came to Pilates several years after the birth of my second child, a 10.5 pound baby, which tore one side of my pelvic floor. Pilates gave me relief from years of back pain, ability to reconnect and strengthen my pelvic floor, as well as, a new found core strength. Also through it I rediscovered the joy of movement and I do Pilates because I enjoy it.
Realising the immense benefits of Pilates and wanting to share this wonderful exercise system, I did my classical mat training with a Romano trained instructor and purchased a Pilates Reformer and then did the Reformer training course with the International recognized Stott Pilates. I am also a Registered Exercise Professional (REPs) and a certified group fitness instructor through Skills Active. I have a keen love of learning and I recently completed the Polestar Pilates comprehensive studio course, which is an international rehabilitation-based Pilates program. I teach at home and at a Phyiostherapy Pilates studio in Wanaka where I mostly teach on the Pilates apparatus (machines) such as the Pilates Reformer, Trapeze table, Wunda chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel and Balance Board which complement and extend the mat work.
