Pig & Whistle, Historic Pub

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Pig & Whistle. We sat outside in an area with fun decorations, lights and overall ambiance. The menu had lots of amazing options - but I opted for the steak and mushroom pie, which was a deconstructed sort of pie and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would say it was the best thing I ate during our 10 days in New Zealand. The service was quick and helpful, and we really enjoyed our time here. I would come back in a heartbeat and definitely recommend eating here.

We absolutely love the food here. It doesn't matter what you buy, you are always guaranteed a great meal .

Great flavours and texture.nnWe had a pram and were unable to find the ramp entry, and there are also steps if you want to sit outside. It wasn't too much of a problem, though.nThere are no vegan options on the kids' menu, but we just shared.nThere is plenty of 60-minute free and paid street parking close by.

Very nice atmosphere it’s like a bar and restaurant style. The food was great. I think that the curly fries were better than the original. The lamb burger was a whole nother level the balance was there and it was delicious. I definitely recommend that.nThe pork rib is also a must try. The sweet sticky tangy sauce and the tender pork was great.

Great classic pub, food was delish. We had the pan fried fish which was nicely cooked and cute pig tail chips and we also had the steak pot pie - tender meat no gristle with yummy mash. They were accommodative with swapping salad for veggies too. Food came out fast as well . We sat in front of a nice wood fire fireplace with some good tunes playing. Menu had lots of great options. Would happily go back.
