Great food and service, very organized in getting transport and passengers safely on / off the ferry. Enjoyable trip with recliners, plenty of seating on tiered levels, plus movie watching. Great taking pictures and sight seeing through the wonderful little Islands.
The interislander ferry is quite an experience. Beautiful views the entire way. They have the loading and unloading process down to an art, but expect a wait as there are a lot of vehicles. Once on-board they have plenty of food and drink options. Public seating goes quickly if you don't reserve seats, but there's lots to see and we found seats along the way as people got up to wander the decks. It's very windy out on the deck, so hold onto your hat.
We were foot passengers with rather heavy bags and there was quite a long walk up and down stairs too.nnThe ferry itself was perfectly comfortable. The crossing was like a mill pond. At the other end we had to ask for the free transfer bus to Wellington train station, a bit of confusion there, I'm glad I speak English!nOverall a good service.
It went all without issues. The staff is friendly and helpful.nYou can check in your car until 1h before departure.nAnd what a scenic ferry cruise it is
Was a very good and smooth experience. Just allow enough time and you’ll get to where you need to go. The boat itself was amazing — almost like a cruise ship. It was a beautiful ride navigating the strait. The crew was very helpful and friendly.
