After a long wait thought to build my new PC and went to PB tech to build one. And have to say from the initial phone call to receiving my PC it has been an amazing experience! City central have an amazing team and a massive shout out to Jonny who helped me choose the right spec and parts and Tony for assembling the PC for me! Team of legends!!!!
Look, it's a PBTech. Like me, you're shopping here for some of the cheapest tech in town. That means your paying for narrow aisles filled with fellow humans shopping those same deals. So expect this place to be heaving during a sale! But despite that, they've got things down to an art. Don't bother trying to find staff on the floor, there probably helping someone else. But they have a special group of counters for just that purpose. They can search up what your looking for, find it, and get you on your way.nn...but again, busy during sales. Expect to queue and wait. If you can't afford the time, order online

However, the customer service at the Christchurch Central branch really needs some improvement.nnI asked a staff member for help, and he said he’d assign someone to assist me and he didn't bother look me in the eyes but then left me waiting. I had to ask another staff member, who seemed quite annoyed and not very keen to help. It wasn’t the best experience.nnI still shop at PB Tech because their product variety and quality are top-notch, but better staff coordination and attitude would make the experience much smoother.nnFor comparison, I didn’t face any issues at the Hornby store — they were much more responsive. But I did notice another customer there leaving frustrated because he couldn’t get anyone to help him, so maybe more staff on the floor could really help overall.nnPB Tech is still a great place to shop — just hoping the service side levels up to match the product quality.nnOverall, PB Tech remains my top choice for tech products - I'd definitely recommend them for their unbeatable range and quality
This review is specifically for the trade-in service, not the entire store.nnI brought in an iPhone 12 mini and a Samsung A14 for trade-in. Online, I was quoted ~$200 for the iPhone and ~$80 for the Samsung. However, the in-store assessment offered only $15 for the iPhone and $11 for the Samsung. I felt they were overreacting to small marks on the sides, classifying them as 'severe damage.'nnI decided to go to No*l Lee***g instead. They gave me $85 for the iPhone only deducting because the battery health was below 80%, which PB Tech didn't even check and $80 for the Samsung. I’d recommend checking other places before accepting a trade-in offer here.
Google service and decent pricing. Not much of a discount for bundled purchases, but it is what it is and that's fine.nnOne star off for the somewhat aggressively push for a mobile phone number under the pretense of warranty for every purchase. Staff can and will accommodate not doing so. So that's nice. I suppose.
